Bought a used 7R 111A to replace my much loved 7R 111. It seemed a better bet going for the 111A because it came out in 2021 and the likelihood of a less used camera was stronger (+ less actuations). There seems to be some internal changes to the software but nothing that stands out. The improved rear screen is perhaps a bit clearer but not really a game changer. However, all in all, the 7R 111A is a great camera and I find the 42mp resolution, with good lenses, is all I need.

I originally owned an A7R III back in 2018 and loved it. However, I allowed my gear obsession to get the better of me, and I switched to a different, newer system. While the latest cameras are technically very impressive, the fact is, stills image quality hit a wall in 2017/18 and so if, like me, you only shoot slow, composed stills photography you are gaining literally nothing in IQ by buying a new flagship camera… Just many features I don’t need and won’t use. Money which I would rather spend on lenses. So in December of 2023, I came full circle and bought a brand new A7R IIIA for significantly less than the price of an A7IV… Which is a no brainer. For my needs, the A7R IIIA is still as good as it gets. For stills photography, the 42MP sensor has not been bettered by any modern flagship camera, is still one of the best full frame sensors ever made and 42MP offers a perfect level of resolution for my needs. I personally prefer a tilting screen and the smaller size body compared to newer models which have grown substantially. It feels perfectly balanced with the vertical grip and without the grip it’s almost pocket size and an excellent street and travel camera with a compact prime. Spec wise, the EVF, battery and rear screen are still relevant and used on modern cameras and the AF was so far ahead of the curve back in 2017/18, it is still excellent for my requirements in 2024. Obviously the video features are miles behind modern models but if you are only a casual/occasional video shooter, it is still a more than capable 4K camera. In a nutshell, if you can find a good deal an A7R IIIA in 2023/24 and your main concern is composed stills photography (not hardcore sports and wildlife), it is still a sensational camera. Not to mention, Sony are so far ahead with the range of lenses now available for the E-Mount it’s become hard to recommend any other system.

I use this for stills and video. I do low light, flash, landscapes and even event photography. I took it out last night to shoot images of Christmas lights (some with fill flash, some without). Every one was perfect - I used auto focus for most, but also manual focus for tricky locations. It is winter here - and all went fine. Again - a camera for someone who needs a versatile camera. Having 2 memory card slots (so a backup) is great too.

I have recently purchased this camera with the Sony 20mm 1.8 and have had a couple of trips to The Peak District, England to put the camera and lens through its paces. Varied landscape work, lee filters and I cannot find the words to really describe my joy with the quality of build and the superb image quality. I have my mojo back for photography......thanks Sony.

The photo is sharp and clear in the dark scenes. Compared with the A7-C, this camera uses the same processor but doesn't have AF tracking function. This is a major disadvantage. Hope the end users can get this function through future firmware upgrades.

This camera has been on my "wish list" for an upgrade for a long time. Great camera in all respects for landscape shooting except for one aspect. You cannot "micro adjust" the focus on lenses as I could with my A77ii. The option is greyed out and the Sony thinking is that with mirrorless cameras this option is not required. I have a number of third party lenses which require calibrating as they are either forward or backwards focusing. This Sony logic needs to be reversed please.

I purchased this camera when visiting WEX camera and video shop, I was blown away by how light the camera is. I have taken a couple of photos and I am really impressed. The one and only problem I have is finding the scene setting so I can try Landscape photography being a Canon user I can use my canon lenses with a Sigma adapter really made up.

I was looking for an upgrade from my dated Mavica FD5, DSC-F717, & a350 gear. My research resulted in either the a7iii or a7Riii for my personal camera needs. I ended up deciding on the a7Riii (ILCE7RM3). Upon receipt and initial setup, I found this model camera is absolutely a "beast". The metal case feels very solid in the hand. The menus are easy and intuitive to navigate. So far the images captured are absolutely stunning and solidify my decision to upgrade to more modern features and capabilities. Thank you Sony!

I bought the a7iii after two years with the A7rii. The latter was also a great camera but the high resolution meant a bit of a loss on the low light performance so I chose to go without the ‘r’ this time and I haven’t regretted it at all. The autofocus performance on the a7iii is excellent and the convenience of having two card slots is a bonus too. Very pleased.

This is my first full frame camera, I got it a month ago, is a great camera that gave me a much better and different image outcome with the fast auto focus and the 10 fps is super fast, 42 mp gave me better resolution and sharper, clearer picture than I expected. I bought the camera recently and tested it outdoors. All fine, AF fast and accurate, 42MB allows for some cropping and adjustment, camera feels good in hand and the battery - you can relay on it. Last weekend I covered my friend's wedding with A7RIII as a main camera and A7III as a backup/video one. With one spare battery I pushed the camera to it's performance limits shooting in poor light with remote flash, dancing people etc. Most of the photos were sharp and easy to develop from RAW even poorly lit. Only shadows at ISO 1600 a bit grainy, otherwise images clean. I'm very happy with the purchase of A7RIII - a good combination of resolution, performance and price. Reliability testing may take a bit longer but so far so good.

Upgraded from the A7RII, which was my main. Can not be happier with the overall performance, handling and of course the battery life. The A7RII camera was a technical marvel, but A7RIII is just made those tiny flaws gone and brought much more with the well thought-out upgrades over the older model. Both are excellent cameras.
