Sony is offering a system software update for Solid-State Memory Camcorder “PMW-F55”

Solid-State Memory Camcorder “PMW-F55”

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please install Version 9.10 ONLY if your PMW-F55 camera has been successfully updated to Firmware Version 7.10 or higher. Otherwise, it is very important to note that for the PMW-F55 cameras with the serial numbers range listed below, the user cannot perform the Upgrade to Version 9.10 and should contact the Sony Service.

Model: PMW-F55 Serial Number: 100001 – 100723, 500001 – 500036

[Applicable system software version]

The applicable products are with the system software version “Ver.9.00” or earlier.  (Please visit the download page to check the system software version installed on your product.) After updating, the system software version will be “Ver.9.10”.

[Contents of update]

1.     Change the values of time zone setting.

2.     When the recording format is set to XAVC 4K or XAVC QFHD and the system frequency is set to 50P/59.94P and        the MPEG2 HD Proxy recording function is set to enable, 4K or QFHD output format is newly available.
